For the first time, units of the Georgian Armed Forces will be able to take part in the next rotation of the NATO Response Force in 2015, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told on Thursday.
According to him, Tbilisi has already confirmed its proposal to join the NATO Response Force.
Earlier, the Georgian Defense Minister Irakliy Alasaniya said that Georgia will become a part of the NATO Response Force.
"We appealed to NATO with this proposal and have received prior approval . I think that in 2015, we will be part of the NATO Response Force. We have met all of the requirements of the alliance, and our troops will be adequately represented in the NATO Response Force," the Minister said.
