By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend: The movement on the railway near Marani village of the Georgian Abasha district (Imereti region) was resumed, JSC Georgian Railway told Trend on Nov. 12.

The fire, which resulted from the oil spill, was extinguished. No one was injured by the disaster.

There is no a large-scale threat of pollution of the environment, JSC Georgian Railway said.

Railway traffic, which was suspended at this stretch of the railway due to the incident, has been resumed.

"Two tank-wagons, presumably full with oil, derailed today at 11:40 near the village of Marani of Abasha district (western Georgia), overturned and caught fire. Fire fighters and rescue workers were mobilized. Now, the fire is extinguished, movement on the railway was restored, and no one was injured by the incident," Georgian Railway's statement said.
