Chairman of Constitutional Court of Georgia Georgy Papuashvili has been elected member of governing body (Bureau) of the Venice Commission.
Venice Commission's Bureau consists of the President and seven members, that elected for 2 years and may be re-elected after this period, Papuashvili told reporters.
Representative of Georgia for the dirst time entered in Bureau of the Venice Commission. Venice Commission consist of 59 member countries (Georgia is member since 1999 ) .
However, one state is represented in the committee in the status of an associate member and 5 countries have observer status.
At the 97th plenary meeting Gianni Buquicchio was reelected as president of the Venice Commission.
According Papuashvili, president-elect assumes visit to Georgia in January 2014.
Georgy Papuashvili is a member of the Venice Commission since 2007.
