Tbilisi, Georgia, Dec.27
by Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
Georgia will likely take a positive decision on its participation in Mali's operation, Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania told journalists on Friday.
"We are already taking practical actions," Alasania said. "We considered the EU requirements on Mali's operation. A positive decision is likely to be made. We will take part in Mali's operation."
However, he stressed that despite this, Georgia's participation in any international operation will not occur at the expense of the country's defensive capacity.
"Georgia will take part not only in NATO operations, but also in Europe," Alasania said. "As a result, the Georgian servicemen will get great combat experience that will be used for the benefit of Georgia."
