Georgia has not received an official response to its proposal of cooperation to ensure safety during the Olympic Games in Sochi, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani told Trend today.

"Despite this, the relevant Georgian ministries will ensure security in the country during the Olympic Games in Sochi," he added.

The Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister was commenting on the UK authorities' statement that Doku Umarov and his group are planning to attack the delegations and sportsmen at the Olympic Games in Sochi.

"Georgia's official delegation will not go to the Olympic Games," he added. "Our relevant ministries will do everything to ensure the safety of the Georgian sportsmen."

Moreover, Zalkaliani said that Georgian sportsmen's participation at the Olympic Games in Sochi will not be reconsidered in connection with the events in Ukraine.
