By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

There is an avalanche danger on the Gudauri-Kobi stretch leading to the Georgian-Russian border and the movement of all types of transport is prohibited, Georgian deputy minister for regional development and infrastructure, Giorgi Amashukeli said on Friday.

But there are no restrictions to movement at the Mleta-Gudauri section.

"The limitations apply to the Nakerala pass, where the movement of trailers is prohibited. I would also like to note the Vaziani-Gombori stretch, where the movement of trailers was also prohibited, but the movement of vehicles using anti-skid chains is allowed," Amashukeli said on air of Rustavi 2 TV channel.

He emphasized that there are limitations to the movement of trailers on the Zugdidi-Mestia, Koda-Manglisi-Tsalka and Borjomi-Bakuriani sections.

Motor vehicles can freely move on these stretches.

As for the Rikota pass, there are also no restrictions.

Amashukeli went on to add that control over such issues in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi is the responsibility of the City Hall.

"I hope that the relevant services of the city hall have been mobilized. I do not know about any restrictions," the deputy minister said.

Snow removal is underway on the roads throughout the country.

The cold weather will continue for a few days, the temperature will begin to rise starting Feb. 4, according to weather forecasts.
