Georgia to join EU operation in Central African Republic

Tbilisi, Georgia, Feb.20
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Georgia will join the European Union's operation in the Central African Republic.

The Georgian Cabinet of Ministers decided to accept an EU proposal on this issue, Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Alasania told journalists on Feb.20 after the government meeting.

"We discussed this issue and came to an agreement that Georgia will join the EU operation. This mission has been justified on humanitarian and moral terms.

"Furthermore, it is very important that the European Union implements it in accordance with the UN resolution. The programme is planned to last six months. Georgian Armed Forces have great experience and high professionalism, so we hope that the operation of the European Union in the Central African Republic will be completed successfully," Alasania said.
