A representative office of the Georgian- British Chamber of Commerce opened in Tbilisi.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with British Minister of State for Europe David Lidington.

The sides discussed issues of the Georgian- British relations and paid special attention to the successes achieved by Georgia towards European integration, the Georgian government told Trend on April 1.

Garibashvili and Lidington appreciated the opening of a representative office of the Georgian- British Chamber of Commerce in Tbilisi on April 1 and expressed hope for further intensification of the business relations between the two countries.

The signing of an association agreement with the EU was also discussed.

"Georgia's future is to join the Euro-Atlantic family," he said.

The parties also discussed the situation in the occupied territories. Garibashvili thanked the guest for support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Special attention was also paid to the cooperation in the sphere of defense. It was stressed that the two countries have a memorandum of cooperation in this area.
