Elgudja Khokrishvili, the former head of Georgian Municipal Development Fund has been appointed as country's Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister.
The new minister was presented to journalists by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, following a government meeting.
Garibashvili said the new minister has an extensive experience in the development of infrastructure and worked on several research papers in this area.
"I am sure the new minister will properly replace David Narmania, who in my opinion, will be the future Tbilisi mayor," he said.
Georgia PM also thanked Narmania for the work done so far.
Narmania will run for post of Tbilisi mayor from the ruling Georgian Dream coalition.
