Georgian Interior Ministry has appealed to Tskhinvali over the detained journalists of TV-3 and is waiting for a response.

"We have sent them some questions and are waiting for the responses," head of Georgian Interior Ministry's Information-Analytical Department, Gocha Ratiani told journalists on April 16.

Russian border guards detained the journalists of TV3 - Bella Zakidze, operator Vakhor Lekiashvili and technical officer Michael Mihoev for violating the so-called South Ossetian border. Currently, they are in Tskhinvali.

Georgian Prime Minister's Special Representative Zurab Abashidze said the issue related to the release of Georgian journalists will be the first topic during his meeting with Russian special representative, Grigory Karasin to be held on April 16 in Prague.

Large scale military action was launched in South Ossetia on August 8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military.

Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in late August. In response, Tbilisi ended diplomatic relations with Moscow and has called the two unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
