Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met with the head of the NATO Liaison Office William Lahyu on April 22.

The parties discussed the North Atlantic prospects of Georgia and the course of the integration process into NATO, the presidential administration told Trend.

Georgia's internal and external challenges were discussed. Taking into account Ukraine's events, regional security, prospects for intensifying the cooperation in the energy and transport sectors among the regional countries were the main discussed topics.

The two sides discussed the NATO upcoming summit to be held in Great Britain in September.

The meeting was held at the presidential palace. Security Council Secretary Irina Imerlishvili, Presidential Adviser on Foreign Affairs Vano Machavariani and head of administration Lasha Abashidze attended the meeting.
