By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

A visa-free regime between Georgia and the European Union (EU) can be created in late 2015 and early 2016, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze said at a joint press conference with British Foreign Secretary William Hague.

The minister pointed out that the action plan on visa liberalization consists of two parts: the legislative part and the implementation part.

It is planned to complete the legislative part before this summer's vacation and afterwards the work on the plan's second part will begin, according to Panjikidze.

"On the other hand, we have already begun to implement some elements of the second part and will be ahead of the plan. The implementation part will begin after summer and presumably, will last a year, or maybe a little longer. With this regard, it is rather an optimistic forecast that the visa-free regime with ordinary passports with the EU will begin in late 2015 or early 2016 ", Georgian foreign minister said.
