French President Francois Hollande expressed satisfaction with Georgia's decision to send its peacekeepers to the Central African Republic.

The president made the remarks during this meeting with Georgia's Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze at the Tbilisi airport.

"This was emotionally pleasant news for me, and I hope that our servicemen will collaborate in the Central African Republic," Hollande stressed.

Georgian foreign minister, for her part, expressed satisfaction with the French president's visit, adding that this shows support for the signing of the association agreement between Georgia and the EU.

Around 150 servicemen, trained under the control of French officers, will be sent from Georgia to the Central African Republic, Georgian Defense Ministry said.

However, it hasn't been specified which battalion or when they will leave for the Central African Republic.
