A certification audit was held at the meteorological service of the Georgian Air Navigation Ltd. (Sakaeronavigatsia Ltd.) in April for its compliance with ISO 9001-2008 standard.
Georgian Air Navigation Ltd. told Trend on Saturday, May 17 that following the audit, the Bureau Veritas Certification acknowledged that the meteorological service's system corresponds to the ISO 9001-2008 standard of management system and in May the meteorological service was awarded an ISO certificate.
The quality management system provides permanent service quality control, reducing air incident risks and promoting continuous development of the meteorological services.
The air traffic movement control department of the Georgian Air Navigation Ltd. also plans to introduce the quality management system in the near future.
Following this the entire organization will receive a certificate of compliance with international standards.
