By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Georgia's Defense Minister Irakli Alasania is continuing inspecting the country's military units.

The Defense Ministry of Georgia told Trend on May 23 that Alasania visited an aviation brigade in Marneuli District.

There Alasania spoke with the members of the military unit's staff.

The brigade's commander, Colonel David Abramishvili presented the development plan of the aircraft fleet to the minister.

Alasania then inspected the aircraft and spoke with the personnel at the airfield.

Afterwards, he familiarized with the completed infrastructure works and the ones still going on.

The minister also attended training flights.

"Today, I visited the Marneuli air base with the general staff's head. I would like to tell the Georgian society that we have well-trained military pilots," Alasania stressed.

"We also got acquainted with the development plan until 2020," the minister said adding that Georgia confidently moves towards the development of its armed forces, and that "no one will be able to prevent this."
