The sides discussed the political situation in the country, security issues, relations between Georgia and the EU and the ways of future cooperation at a meeting of the board of the European Commission and a Georgian government delegation in Brussels.

The sides issued a joint statement following the meeting. Several items relate to the reforms and successful initiatives of the Georgian Ministry of Justice. In particular, Georgia's success in democratic transfer of power, visa regime liberalization and a reform of the justice system can be emphasized.

The European Commission also stressed Georgia's progress in the visa regime liberalization with the EU and once again expressed support for all reforms among the commitments on the visa regime liberalization.
