A gap was observed in the German-Georgian relations, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said following the visit to Germany on May 29.

"But now we feel support from Germany and, in particular, from the chancellor," he added.

"I will visit Germany on June 2, where an extended meeting will be held," he said. "This testifies to the fact that Germany wants to intensify the relations with Georgia."

"The Georgian, Moldovan and Ukrainian Prime Ministers met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on May 29," Garibashvili said. "We talked for a long time and discussed important issues."

"This visit confirms EU and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy's support for Georgia," Garibashvili added.

Garibashvili's visit to Germany ended on May 29. He participated in a meeting with German Chancellor, as well as Herman Van Rompuy's awards ceremony.
