Georgia and Germany signed an agreement on the joint fight against organized crime, terrorism and other grave crimes.

The document was signed in Berlin, by Georgian Interior Minister Alexander Chikaidze and German Federal Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere.

The agreement envisages cooperation of the law enforcement bodies of Georgia and Germany in investigation of grave crimes, facts of terrorism, drugs and arms trafficking, human trafficking and illegal migration, property crimes, corruption, cyber-crimes, manufacturing counterfeit money, and financial crimes.

Aside from that, the agreement envisages a cooperation of the two countries' law enforcement bodies at the operational level, the exchange of criminologists, their training, education, and holding forensic examinations.

Following the signing, German Federal Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that Georgia and Germany signed an agreement on security and freedom, which is to play an important role in the bilateral relations of these countries.

"We will launch the practical cooperation tomorrow," de Maiziere stressed.
