Georgian doctors will not be required to report to the police on drug overdose cases.

This change was made to the health minister's decree 'on provision of operational information by medical institutions to the structures of Interior Ministry' on August 11 and signed by the Minister of Health, David Sergeenko.

According to the changes, the doctors will not be required to report to the police on drug overdose cases in the absence of other additional circumstances.

These circumstances include the suspected injury, cases when the patient is unconscious, all cases of sudden death, suspected poisoning (except drug overdose) and others.
