An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter Scale hit Afghanistan early Friday morning, said the National Seismological Network of China, Xinhua reported.
The quake happened at 1:44 a.m. (Beijing Time). The epicenter was at 36.6 degrees north latitude and 70.9 degrees east longitude, with a depth of about 220 km, the network said.
