Troops kill 3 militants in S. Afghanistan

Three militants were killed as troops raided Taliban hideouts in Ghazni province of southern Afghanistan, provincial police chief Khayalbaz Shirzai said Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
  
"During a cleanup operation involving police and NATO-led troops in Muqar district on Monday, three rebels were killed," Shirzai told Xinhua.
  
He also stressed that there were no casualties on the troops or civilians.Taliban militants have not made comment.
  
Troops in a similar operation killed six militants in Andar district, Ghazni province on Saturday.
  
Mounting pressure on security forces, Taliban militants Monday raided a police center in Gerdez city, capital of Paktia province, wounding 11 people including four policemen.
