Two more NATO soldiers were killed on Thursday bringing to seven the number of military alliance fatalities in a single day, NATO confirmed on Friday, Xinhua reported.

"An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in eastern Afghanistan yesterday,"said the statement issued by NATO-led ISAF.

According to the brief statement the second service member was killed in an insurgent attack in restive southern Afghan region on Thursday.

Five U.S. soldiers serving with ISAF were killed in a roadside bomb blast in southern Afghanistan on Thursday.

The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the militant group announced to launch spring offensive from May 1 against Afghan and NATO-led troops stationed in Afghanistan.

Over 380 NATO soldiers, most of them Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of this year.
