At least three civilians were killed and nine others injured Tuesday when a bomb hidden in a restaurant went off in north-western Afghanistan, an official said, dpa reported.
"The bomb had been placed under a table in a restaurant and exploded around noon (0730 GMT) at a busy time in Khwaja Sabzposh district of Faryab province," said deputy provincial governor Abdul Sattar Barez.
"Three civilians were killed and nine others were wounded," he said.
He said the reason for the bombing was not clear, but Barez mentioned personal rivalries as "one of the main elements of such attacks."
"We have dispatched an investigating team to the area to find out the reason," Barez said.
