Former French president Jacques Chirac is to be tried on allegations that he gave 21 political allies false contracts as ghost workers in Paris city hall, his office told AFP on Friday.
A source close to the 76-year-old conservative leader told AFP that he was "calm and determined" to prove that none of the jobs for which he has been ordered to stand trial was a ghost job.
