Roman Polanski has begun his house arrest on $4.5 million bail at his Alpine chalet in the luxury Swiss resort of Gstaad, AP reported.

The film director's wife and two children were waiting for him after he had spent two months in a Swiss jail. Switzerland is deciding whether to extradite him to the U.S. in a 32-year-old sex case.
