Report: Poland arrests Russian "spy"

Poland's Internal Security Agency arrested an alleged Russian spy suspected of working for Russian military intelligence, the daily Dziennik reported Wednesday.

The suspect headed a small business and lived in Poland for more than a decade, the daily reported.

He was arrested after his actions became "intolerable" and "harmful" to Poland, an anonymous government source told the daily, DPA reported.

Prosecutors in Warsaw confirmed such a suspect was being detained and that charges would soon be brought against him. They declined to give further details.

The agent spoke excellent Polish and had a permanent resident card that allowed him to live in the country, the daily said.

He was arrested by the anti-terrorism department of Poland's Internal Security Agency.
