An explosion injured six persons riding a Ukrainian intercity train, Ministry of Transport officials said Sunday.
The blast hit an overnight passenger train traveling from the western city of Chenivtsi to the capital, Kiev, dpa reported.
The detonation took place at approximately 6 pm (1600 GMT) as the train was standing in the intermediate switching station in Luzhansk, according to an Intefarx news agency report.
The explosion in the train's third car left two car attendants and four passengers in serious but stable condition, according to the report.
Some of the victims suffered burn injuries, according to a Korrespondent web magazine report.
All victims were receiving treatment in a Luzhansk hospital, said Lilia Krinytska, a Ministry of Transport spokeswoman.
Law enforcers were investigating the cause of the explosion, she said.
