Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the late Polish president's twin brother, congratulated his main competitor in Polish presidential elections, Bronislaw Komorowski on the victory in presidential elections' exit polls, Polish media said on Sunday, RIA Novosti reported.

Poish pollster TNS OBOP said exit polls from Sunday's Polish presidential runoff showed a lead for the acting Polish president Bronislaw Komorowski with 53.1% after surveying voters, while 46.9% was for Kaczynski.

Another research center MillwardBrown SMG/KRC said 51.09% voted for Komorowski, 48.91% - for Kaczynski.

Kaczynski said that according to the "heart-warming tradition" he should start with the congratulation of Bronislaw Komorowski.

"I want to thank everybody who took part in these elections, but first of all those who had supported me," he said.

The first round of early elections, forced by President Lech Kaczynski's death in the April air crash in western Russia, was held on June 20. It was narrowly won by acting president Bronislaw Komorowski (41.54%), a pro-EU, moderate member of the governing Civic Platform party.

Polish Central Election Committee is set to announce the results of the election on Monday, July 5.
