A/H1N1 flu victims in Nepal recovering

Three persons diagnosed with the A/H1N1 flu last month have recovered after treatment in isolation for five days, the local news website Nepalnews.com on Sunday quoted Nepali health officials as saying, Xinhua reported.
   The patients were given a full course of Tamiflu for five days and their disease has been cured completely, said Dr. Senendra Raj Upreti, director of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division of Nepal.
   They need not be kept in isolation anymore as they are not capable of transmitting the disease to others now, said the official on Saturday.
   Three members of a family, a 44-four year old man, a 38-year old woman and an eight-year old child, who entered Nepal on June 21 from the United States via Doha, Qatar, were found infected with the pandemic influenza A/H1N1 on June 29. They were treated in isolation at their home.
   Later two other persons who had come in contact with the victims were also diagnosed with the flu. They are still undergoing treatment.
   Meanwhile, the flu has been suspected in one Bhim Bahadur Chaudhary, 23, of Bardiya in western Nepal. He returned from Qatar a few days ago. Although, he was suspected of the flu after the test at the Tribhuvan International Airport, health officials had lost contact with him as he left for his hometown.
   Nepali Police took Chaudhary under control and admitted him to the hospital. He is kept in isolation and under observation.
