About 55 million Indonesians did not use their rights to pick up their new president in the July 8 presidential election, according to the election commission on Friday, reported Xinhua.
The figure is much higher than the 49 million people in the legislative polls on April 9.
Based on the final tally by the commission, there are 121,504, 481 people out of 176,411,434 eligible voters casting their votes in the presidential polls.
It is likely the voters decided not to use their rights, as the country's authorities had eased the rules for casting votes.
Two days before the presidential polls, the Constitutional Court had allowed voters to use their identity cards in the voter registration following some complaints.
