Over 50 passengers were injured Friday in south eastern Sri Lanka as a bus went down a precipice, police said, reported Xinhua.
A state-owned bus went down a hilly area at Karawanella, 61 kms from the capital Colombo at 6 a.m local time (0030 GMT).
Some 20 women are among the 56 people injured and admitted to the Karawanella hospital.
The area along the route to the island's hill country is known for its misty and foggy road conditions.
