Governor of Afghan province Balkh blames election commission in juggling in incumbent president’s favor
The governor of Afghan province Balkh, Atta Muhammad Nur, blamed election commission in juggling in the incumbent President Hamid Karzai's favor, BBC reported.
He said the commission gave a piece of material to the voters to clean their fingers from the ink. It is supposed to target helping the voters to vote once more. He also blamed the commission in deceiving illiterate voters in an effort to collect their votes for Karzai.
The commission rejected the claims.
The presidential elections began in Afghanistan. Totally, 17 million of the Afghanistan population of 29 million people have right to vote. It has become the second presidential elections in Afghanistan since the beginning of the U.S. military operations in 2001. Major rivals of Kharzai in these presidential elections are former Foreign Minister Abdulla Abdulla and former Finance Minister Ashraf Gani Ahmadzi.
