6.7 magnitude quake strikes near Philippines

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck southeast of the Sulu archipelago of the Philippines, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 5:41 a.m. local time on Thursday, was located 184 miles southeast of Jolo on the Sulu archipelago. The depth was 362.2 miles, the agency said.

Initially, the U.S. Geological Survey registered a 6.9 magnitude quake.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages and no tsunami warning was issued.
