A bus carrying 27 passengers plunged down a hill in east China's Zhejiang Province on Wednesday afternoon, Xinhua reported.
Witnesses said at least eight passengers were killed, but the number of casualties has not been confirmed by authorities.
The bus went off the road at around 2:30 p.m. and stopped on the hillside in the mountainous Jiangshan City. Some passengers were trapped in the vehicle, which was said to be in danger of rolling.
A rescue operation has begun.
