Authorities say 30 people have been killed in two bomb blasts at a market in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, AP reported.

The blasts Monday triggered a fire which swept through shops in the market. Many of those killed are women and children.

Islamist militants have carried out scores of bloody bombings in Pakistan in recent months.

Punjab police chief Tariq Saleem Dogar says 30 people have been killed.
