Seven militants were killed Thursday in a nearly five-hour battle with security forces after attacking a military base in northern Pakistan, a news report said.
All of the attackers were killed after infiltrating the airbase in Attock, Punjab, and one soldier died, the Dawn newspaper reported, citing air force officials.
The militants were armed with automatic rifles, grenades and suicide vests when they attacked before dawn, the officials were quoted as saying, dpa reported.
