Pyongyang vowed Wednesday to expand its nuclear arsenal after the UN Security Council approved a new round of sanctions on North Korean officials and companies involved in last month's successful launch of a ballistic missile, dpa reported.
"We will undertake measures to strengthen our defensive military capacity, including our nuclear deterrent," the Foreign Ministry said.
The government also announced it would not participate in the stalled six-party negotiations over its nuclear programme.
