Death toll rises to 34 after blast at Pemex headquarters in Mexico

The death toll following an explosion at the headquarters of Mexico's state-owned oil company rose to 34 late Saturday after a body was found in the rubble, DPA reported.

President Enrique Pena Nieto posted the update on Twitter during a visit to the Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) compound in central Mexico City where Thursday's blast occurred.

The cause of the explosion that left 121 people injured and badly damaged a 12-storey building is still unclear. Rescuers had called off their search Friday.
