An explosive device detonated on a platform of the Baltic Railway Station in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on Tuesday morning, severely injuring the driver of a passing train, the Interfax News Agency reported.
The explosion struck as the train was pulling past the platform, the agency said. The station has now been sealed off and the incident is being investigated by the internal security service FSB.
In November a suspected bomb attack on a train between Moscow and St. Petersburg killed some 27 people, and was thought to have been set by a terrorist group, DPA reported.
Security services have not said if they suspected terrorist involvement in Tuesday's attack.
