EMERCOM denies bodies disclosure at plane crash site in Irkutsk province

The Emergency Control Ministry of the Russian Federation has not confirmed yet the disclosure of bodies of people who died in the crash of a Mi-8 helicopter in the Irkutsk province, head of the information department of the Ministry Oleg Voronov told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, some media reported with reference to an unnamed source that rescuers saw the dead bodies from a helicopter.

"Rescuers have not yet got to the place, and the only thing visible from the air is the helicopter with signs of destruction," Voronov said.

Mi-8 helicopter of 'Angara' airline participating in the monitoring of floods disappeared on Monday afternoon, and after a while its debris were in a few miles from Preobrazhenka settlement. According to preliminary data, there were nine people on the board, including Acting Chief of the Chief Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Irkutsk province colonel Stanislav Omelyanchik.

There is no official information about the people on the board yet. In addition, it is known that the helicopter was transporting about 1.9 tons of explosives for blowing up the ice..
