The long-suffering New Orleans Saints claimed their first-ever NFL championship with a 31-17 victory over the favoured Indianapolis Colts in the annual Super Bowl on Sunday night in Miami, dpa reported.
Two fourth-quarter touchdowns gave the Saints an insurmountable lead, capped by a 74-yard return of an interception against Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning.
