Schwarzenegger brings out crowds on last leg of torch relay

Thousands of people lines the streets as Arnold Schwarzenegger joined the Olympic torch relay on its final journey through Vancouver Friday.

The one-time bodybuilder, movie star and governor of California received the torch in Vancouver's Stanley Park on the last day of its 45,000-kilometre journey.

One fan held a sign that read "The Torchinator" - a reference to his role in The Terminator - as Schwarzenegger ran his leg before handing the torch to former Olympic champion Sebastian Coe, head of the London 2012 summer Games organizing committee, dpa reported.

The torch relay will wind its way through Vancouver before it finishes its journey at BC Place Stadium in the evening for the opening ceremony for the winter Games and the lighting of the cauldron.

The identity of the final torchbearer is a closely guarded secret.
