Consulate attackers will face justice, Obama says

US President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the attackers who killed four Americans at the US consulate in Benghazi will face justice for their "outrageous and shocking attack", reported dpa.

"We will not waiver in our commitment to see that justice is done in this terrible act. Make no mistake, justice will be done," he said in the White House Rose Garden, accompanied by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama said security precautions would be strengthened at US outposts and that Washington would work with Libyan authorities in investigating the incident. He also praised the diplomats, including ambassador Chris Stevens, for their work with Libyan rebels in Benghazi during the uprising against Moamer Gaddafi last year and their work with the new Libyan government.

"The lives these Americans lived stand in stark contrast to those of their attackers," he said. "These four Americans stood up for freedom and human dignity. This should give every American great pride in the country that they served."
