Obama: US await facts on Syria chemical weapons

US President Barack Obama said on Wednesday that the United States would not intervene in Syria based on reports of the use of chemical weapons until it has all the facts, dpa reported.

Obama said the United States is investigating the reports.

"I have made clear that the use of chemical weapons is a game changer," Obama said. But he declined to make a statement "today" because we need to "gather the facts."
