US President Barack Obama is weighing options on how to respond to the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime, the White House says.
Spokesman Jay Carney says no decisions have yet been made, but that Obama is consulting with allies and the US Congress, dpa reported.
The discussions were not centered on whether chemical weapons had been used, but on what the appropriate response should be, he says.
"There must be a response," Carney says, stressing there was no doubt that chemical weapons were used by the Syrian government.
