"Heritage" party press secretary Hovsep Khurshudyan said that his party will appeal to the CEC today to challenge the results of the presidential elections, Mediamax reported today.

Speaking to reporters, Hovsep Khurshudyan said that they will urge a recount of votes at some polling stations.

"Raffi Hovannisian will discuss political actions later," the Heritage party press-secretary said. "I think that Hovhannisyan's status was changed by the elections yesterday and he was in fact elected president."

"We see a preliminary approach and some irregularities," Khurshudyan said commenting on the assessments of international observers.

The presidential elections were held in Armenia on Feb. 18.

According to the results, Armenian incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan won the presidential elections winning 58.64 percent of the vote. First Foreign Minister of Armenia Raffi Hovannisian ranked second winning 36.75 percent of the vote, Former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan ranked third winning 2.15 percent.
