France is the biggest Western investor in the Armenian economy, French President Francois Hollande said at the Armenian-French business forum in Yerevan, news.am. website reported.
"A half of all EU funds fall to France's investments in Armenia," the president said. "It is around 120 million euros per year. Of course, we are represented in many areas, namely, banking, telecommunication and transport. But our trade contacts remain small [in 2013 - about $81.9 million per year]. France ranks tenth among the trade partners of Armenia taking into account that some 500,000 Armenians live in our country. We must intensify the contacts and facilitate the exchange of information for business."
