National Statistical Service of Armenia has published statistics on foreign investments in Armenia in the first half of this year, news. am reports referring to the Zhoghovurd newspaper Sept. 3.

"It is interesting that the National Statistical Service reported data on investments using the new methodology, which makes it impossible to compare them with the amount of investments in the same period of last year. In other words, the authorities decided to hide a significant decline in foreign investments," the article said.

The newspaper notes that when comparing data of the last quarter of the Government of Tigran Sargsyan and the first quarter of the Government of Hovik Abrahamian in intervals of January - March and April - June, it turned out that in the first half of this year the volume of direct investments amounted to 249 billion 963 million drams. And in the first quarter the figure was 201 billion 892.6 million drams. That is, in the second quarter the volume of investments made amounted to 48 billion drams.
