The number of female inmates increased by 41 percent in Armenia in 2013 compared to 2008, Armenian edition Armenianreport says.
"Around 239 women were sentenced to imprisonment in the country in 2013, which is 13 percent more than in 2012, according to the recently published official data of the Armenian National Statistics Service.
"Around 353 women were sentenced in 2009," the edition reported citing the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper.
