The factions of the 'Prosperous Armenia' and 'Heritage' parties, and the Armenian National Congress (ANC) took an initiative to hold an urgent debate on their draft statement on the country's power crisis, the Novosti-Armenia news agency reported Oct. 20.
The Armenian parliament speaker, Galust Saakyan said Oct. 20 that the opposition's draft statement on power crisis in Armenia, as well as the draft law on amendments to the country's electoral code will be discussed at an extraordinary session.
The ANC faction head, Levon Zurabyan, said the opposition's proposal on such extraordinary hearing is not an end in itself.
"The authorities' actions led to the failure on all fronts - in economy, in social sphere, as well as in domestic and foreign policies. All this has led, among other things, to a mass emigration. There cannot be delays. All the people are waiting for a response to a question about what will happen next," Zurabyan said.
